Oh Christmas Tree

Do you ever find a good idea and get stuck on it?  That is what has happened to me with these lovely christmas tree cupcakes by Bakerella.

Here is my version.

I have made a couple of batches now for gifts and they are so much fun.  I have used fruit cake and vanilla cupcakes.  I found mini ice cream cones at the supermarket, which saved me cutting them like Bakerella describes.  I also used royal icing on the cake and the cone, this dries crisp and keeps well.

So here is the first Christmas project I would like to share.

I had fun making these and filling them with goodies for Christmas day.  I was stuck matching red card to the pretty ribbon I was using.  Then inspiration stuck and I used the packaging from the gift I was putting inside.

The card behind the photo was actually a perfect colour match and a lovely flocked finish.

I hope this inspires you to think outside the square for supplies.

Hello, anyone who is still out there :) Life has been very jam packed lately but I am finally finding a little time to be creative again.
